Sunny Summer

Author's Note-Summer is one of my favorite seasons. First there's my birthday and of course, summer vacation.

Summer is the hottest season of all seasons.Many things happen in summer. There is no school, you can go on vacation or anything you can imagine. Summer for me is one of the best times of the year. You can go on vacation, sleep in, or go anywhere you want. Last summer, I just stayed home, shopping and went to downtown Milwaukee. What's your ideal summer?

Flying Fireworks

Author's Note- Here is a short description about fireworks that is related to me and some others.

Fireworks come in different sizes and colors. Most of the time, fireworks fly into the sky on the 4^th of July. Every year on the 4^th of July, lots of places have fireworks. I guess that it’s just a tradition with everyone. For my family and me, our tradition is going to go see the fireworks every year. Other people just watch the fireworks on tv, but personally, I think that they are better in person. Fireworks may be loud, but dazzle your eyes. What’s your tradition?

Wonderful and Yummy Cupcakes

Author's Note- This is a little description of cupcakes and what different kinds there are.

Cupcakes, a nice sugary treat that takes you to another world. What’s in a cupcake? That’s your choice. You can have a vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting, a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting, a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting, or a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting. You can also have edible decorations. Maybe just anything you can absolutely imagine. The best cupcakes are when the bread is still warm and the frosting melts away in your tongue. What’s your ideal cupcake?

Dolphins are the Animals to Love

Author's Note- Dolphins are one of my favorite animals. They can do anything and you can always see them at zoos. 

Dancing animals that swim in water.

Oar like fins that help them swim

Loving creatures that are generous to others.

Playful animals

Hungry dolphins eat fishes like herring, cod or mackerel, some others eat squids

Intelligent animals that love others and treat each other nice.

The Lessons to be Taught

Authors note- The Clique and Invasion of the Boy Snatchers are two of the 18 books in The Clique series that are similar and different at the same time. Also with lesson to learn.

There are so many cliques in school, especially middle school and high school. In school, there are the geeks, skater dudes, and of course the cool kids. Everyone wants to be a cool kid or at least wants to hang out with those cool kids. This series tells more and more lessons as you read more books. The books are similar, but different at the same time. The Clique and Invasion of the Boy Snatchers are two of the 18 books that are different, but similar.

Both of these books tell different stories, but are related to another. The Clique is about four girls. Their names are Alicia Rivera, Dylan Marvil, Kristen Gregory, and Massie Block. They all are best friends. A new girl named Claire Lyons comes to town. Claire knows nothing about Westchester. She thinks as if her and Massie will be best friends, but to Massie, that will never happen.  Massie gets Claire angry, so she takes revenge on her. On Massie's computer, she sneaks onto her IM and talks to Massie's friends in a bad way. Next day, Massie's friends come storming in and yelling at her for what Claire said. All of them decided to let Claire in the clique and kick Massie out. Kristen left something at Massie's house, so she goes to pick it up. Massie and Kristen start talking about the night when Claire was chatting them. Then, they found out that Claire was the one who was chatting them and being mean to them. If I were Massie, Kristen, Alicia, and Dylan, I would be furious with Claire and they were. At the end, they become friends.
Since they became friends, the book Invasion of the Boy Snatchers is a little different from The Clique. Invasion of the Boy snatchers is about Alicia's cousin, Nina, who comes and decides to start even more drama a OCD. Especially since the OCD'S Valentine's Day Dance is coming up and Massie wants to win the cupid award badly. Nina tries to steal Cam away from Claire, Darrington away from Massie, and Josh away from Alicia. The girls didn't know why the boys were ignoring them.  Massie, Claire, and Alicia were  getting angry because they didn't know why they were ignoring them. She and her friends were realizing that they had things that were gone missing. They didn't know who stole their things. Until Alicia, Claire, and Massie sneak into the boy's locker room and find something strange in Josh's locker. A strange note and then they found out that Nina was stealing everything. Soon at the end, they found out why the boys were ignoring the girls. 

These two books and the whole series definitely tells lots of lesson. A couple that I learned was that we shouldn’t always hang out with the same people all the time. We should talk to other people too. Another lesson that I learned is that I shouldn't take revenge on people I get mad at. I should just try to forgive them. Many people learn from these books, just like me. As soon as you read the first book, you will get hooked onto this series.

Patriots Pen Essay

Authors note- This essay is about our wonderful country that we live in and how thankful we should be to even live in the U.S. 

             I don’t really know what to say about our country. The United States is a spectacular country to live in because we have the freedom of speech, which tells us that we have the right to say whatever we want and the freedom to say whatever we want. Some countries don’t get freedom. For an example, North Korea doesn't have freedom. Once you enter their country, you can’t get out.

Our army is a brave army because there are so many people in the U.S army who are willing to die just for us. I haven't really thought about that, thinking that there are so many people who love you so much that they would die for you. We definitely should be thankful. The U.S has many groups of armies. Five groups that are part of the U.S army are the Marine Corps, air force, navy, army, and coast guard.

Honestly, we always complain about the smallest thing. For an example, having not enough clothes or being hungry. Many people everywhere are suffering from starvation and financially. What if all of a sudden, your parents come up to you and say that they have no more money to buy you clothes or food. There are so many children that live in Africa that only live a short amount of time because they don’t get food everyday like we do.

We have the right to believe whatever religion we want. Whether it’s Christian, Catholic or Lutheran, or Buddhist, you can choose to believe in whatever you want. Many people from Europe came here because of religion in the past. We can all believe in what we want to believe in. Imagine life when we have to believe one religion and if we don’t believe that religion, then we have a punishment. That’s what happened back then.

We should be lucky to even have the privilege to live here. Many people from different countries come to live here every day. Whether they are from France or Africa, there are so many people that come here because they want to live a wonderful life. My parents came here because they wanted to explore a different country. I’m glad to be living in a country like this.

The Art of Disney Movies

Authors note- This essay is about some of the famous Disney movies. Some of the movies are The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella.

          Every kid’s dream is to go to Disney World, Disney Land or just to watch one of the awesome Walt Disney Movies, but who really knows how it came to life and how it was formed. Is that not why you are reading this? Walt Disney has the best movies ever. He has won many awards for their movies. For an example, The Lion King got an award in 1994 and 2004.

          Lion King came into theaters in June 15^th 1994. During opening weekend they made $1,825,849 just in the USA. Worldwide however, Lion King made $771,900,000. The movie is about 89 minutes long and of course Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Feature Animations made this movie. This movie had Swahili in it. Swahili was used for the lyrics. Lion King is about a young lion prince that is born in Africa, making his uncle Scar the second line in the throne. Scar gets with the hyenas to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba to make himself king. The king is killed and Simba is led to believe that Scar killed the king. 

          Another movie that Walt Disney Pictures made was Aladdin. Aladdin came into theaters in November 15^th 1992. On opening weekend, the movie made $196,664. Worldwide, the movie made $504,050,219. Aladdin is 90 minutes long. This movie has a very famous song. Can you guess what this song is? Are you stumped? This famous song is The Whole New World. Aladdin is about a man named Aladdin and he was a street-urchin who lived in a large and busy town and lived with his pet monkey Abu. Princess Jasmine gets tired of being forced to stay inside the palace that has a nice view of the city. She sneaks out to the market in town where she meets Aladdin. Then Jafar, the sultan’s advisor, demands that he gets thrown into jail. The legend says that the only person who is a “diamond in the rough” can retrieve the lamp in the Cave of Wonders. He wants to marry Princess Jasmine, who must marry a prince, by law. 

          On November 22^nd 1991, the movie Beauty and The Beast came out. Beauty and the Beast got $347,900,000 worldwide. The movie is 84 minutes, but there is also a special edition that is 91 minutes. This movie is about a girl named Bell and she is dissatisfied with her life. Then there is a prince who is selfish and he doesn’t know how to love. He is placed under a spell, which changed him into a Beast and stays like that until someone is in love with him. Soon he and Bell start to fall in love.

          Here is another famous Disney movie. Can you guess what it is? It’s Cinderella! Cinderella came out in March 4^th 1950. This movie is 74 minutes. During opening weekend, this movie made $1,300,000 in the US. If you haven’t seen this movie, well first who hasn’t seen this movie? It is about a girl named Cinderella. She had a mom and dad. Cinderella was so happy until her mom died. Cinderella’s dad married a mean and cold woman who had 2 daughters named Drizella and Anastasia. When Cinderella’s Dad died, her wicked stepmother made her do everything in the house.

Then one day, the king of the town was going to have a party for his son, the prince, to find a wife and the prince would be able to choose his bride. Cinderella wanted to go, but her stepmother didn’t let her go. Soon, the night when they went, Cinderella was home cleaning, until a Fairy godmother came and used her magic to get her ready to go to the ball. She went to the ball and danced with the prince. The prince fell in love with her, but at midnight she had to leave or the spell that her fairy godmother put on her would not work anymore.

So before midnight, she ran off but left something important, her glass slipper that came off her foot. The next day the prince came to town and tried to find her and every lady that was there he told them to try on. Then came her stepsister’s turn. Either their foot was too big to fit in the slipper or too small. Cinderella tried it on and it fit perfectly. Everyone was so shocked. Soon, Cinderella and the prince lived happily ever after.

          The last Disney that I am going to talk about today is The Little Mermaid. This movie came out in November 17^th 1989. During opening weekend, this movie mad $9,814,520. The Little Mermaid movie is 83 minutes. The Little Mermaid is about a girl named Ariel and she is the daughter of King Trition, the king of the sea. He is dissatisfied with the life in the sea. She is with humans above the surface and is often caught in arguments with her father. Ariel goes to meet Ursula, the Sea Witch, to make a deal, but Ursula has bigger plans for her and her father.

          The best movies made, were the movies made by Walt Disney. Whenever you spot a Disney movie or see a commercial about one, I guarantee that it will be a good movie. More Disney movies should get more awards and notices about how well they make their movies and how they are so interesting. Disney movies are the best!
